Surgical centre Rožna dolina Receives Accreditation Based on International DIAS Standard

The Surgical centre Rožna dolina became the first private hospital in Slovenia to be awarded an international accreditation for providing high-quality and safe health-care service. The accreditation is awarded by the certification body Det Norske Veritas AS and is based on the DIAS standard, part of the NIAHO (National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations).

To comply with DIAS, a hospital needs to continually develop and improve its healthcare quality and patient safety. DIAS also addresses general safety for workers, patients and other visitors within hospitals.

To be accredited, a hospital must maintain and further develop high quality standards. Then, an international survey team evaluates all aspects of the hospital’s activity to see if it complies with DIAS completely. The Surgical centre met all the requirements.

The accreditation has also made international exchange of patients possible, which will help the Surgical centre achieve more international recognition.
