On the first post-operative day, your vision will probably still be blurry as an effect of eye drops and the procedure itself; yet in a couple of days, your vision will become clearer (unless you have other eye conditions).
In most cases, cataract surgery improves the vision significantly. Such a lens is inserted that after the surgery, hardly any patient needs glasses for distance vision; but they usually need reading glasses. If you wish, a lens can be inserted that will correct your near-vision problems, but then you will need glasses for distance vision.
You might also want to have a multifocal lens implant. If so, please let us know at the preoperative evaluation, as such a lens must be ordered separately. If a standard lens is inserted, you will need to change your glasses three or four weeks after the surgery. By then, the eye will have stabilized.
